While Skyrim is basically built around the map, in terms of gameplay, I would at least like to remove my player's map marker from the World Map. If this also removes my marker from the Local Map, that's OK too. I dont mind if the map still centers on where I am, because honestly I'm pretty imprecise in terms of my skill at telling where the.

I think it was an issue caused by installing a Pastel map marker mod when adding all of my mods to a new PC. The first time I ran it, I got some kind of error from Skyui, I think, but it was vague and just said it had a display issue. Being that I had just installed quite a few mods, I didn't know which one was causing it. After disabling mod after mod that I suspected could have caused the missing map icons issue, I tried running the Vanilla game with no mods at all, and the markers were still missing.

So I tried verifying the skyrim files in steam. No luck. Deleted and reinstalled the game including all the files I could find. Still the same. Tried running in a new Mod Organizer profile with its own set of INIs.

Can anyone offer me some assistance on how to fix this?
